Shabby Pins for your Beach Bag

Sunday, March 30, 2014

Hello my blogging friends!
I am busy filling up bins for my June craft show at the beach!!

I made these shabby pins from fabric & lace scraps & added some vintage jewelry.
There are some good tutorials on youtube for making a lot of different style pins & brooches.
A great resource when you want to learn something new.
I wanted something fun & beachy so I love how these turned out.

I attached them to a vintage postcard that I downloaded from etsy.

diy for my Craft Show Tent

Tuesday, March 25, 2014

It was a busy day in my craft studio!

I stumbled upon this piece one Saturday morning at the flea market.
Not really sure what it started out life as...but
I instantly had a vision for a "chalkboard sign" for my craft show tent.
Had to snatch it up for $5.

I painted the edges with CeCe Caldwell Santa Fe Turquoise.
Distressed with a light sand paper then used the dark aging cream.
I am in love with this non-smelly earth friendly product.

I also used CeCe's  Beckley Coal for the chalkboard.
I applied two coats, let it dry thoroughly, then rubbed it all over with chalk.
Wiped it off & it was ready for a message!

Going to work on my chalk writing skills & maybe some colored chalk perhaps?
I think this will be a very charming sign for my craft tent!

I also crafted the business card holder shown below from an Altoids tin.
I had such a happy craft day!
Linking in with Ivy & Elephants today.

Let's make a Splash

Friday, March 21, 2014

It seems like Spring is never going to arrive here at the Jersey Shore.
It has been quite chilly outside.
One rare 50 degree day we took a walk on the beach.
Here is a little collection of "treasure" that I found that day.

I loved the weathered pieces of driftwood & crafted them into ornaments.

Since I am selling at a craft show by the beach in June..how perfect are these?
My event calendar for upcoming shows is available at beachpompom.com
If you are in the area, I hope you'll stop in and say hello.

Yep, I am ready to build a sand castle!

Vintage Pink Horse Show Ribbon

Saturday, March 8, 2014

Hope you are having a wonderful Pink Saturday!
Today I would like to share one of my recent "pink" finds.
Last weekend we took a trip to Dover, NJ & popped into the best Antique center.
(The tattered ribbon on the right I found years ago for one dollar at the flea market).

I spotted this beautiful 1940's Vintage Pink ribbon & had to have it.
It was just $5 & made my day!!
The ribbons found a perfect home on my sun porch.

Stop by How Sweet the Sound to say hello to Beverly & share your PINK!!

When I decided "amateur hour" needed to be over I went looking for some help.

I found Jana, at LittleWebWritingHood on etsy
She was so amazing to work with.
She knew exactly the look I was trying to achieve.

Thrift Store Score

Saturday, March 1, 2014

My friend Dina scored at the thrift shop
when she stumbled across this fabulous vintage blue velvet sofa.
Here I am...wishing I would have found it first!!
It's okay tho..I would not have any space for it anyway :(

We loaded it up in my van.

It's going to get a good cleaning
then will be ready to style Dina's new Brooklyn Apartment.
